Southwest Airlines has promoted Justin Jones from senior director of pricing and planning to vice-president of operational strategies and performance. In this newly created role, Jones will report directly to Mike Van de Ven, Southwest Airlines’ EVP and COO, while working alongside a team responsible for the operational performance and strategic planning of companywide initiatives that align and support the daily operation of the airline.“Justin has 15 years of Southwest experience on both the operational and commercial sides of our airline. He's a proven leader with an exemplary track record,” stated Van de Ven. “We have tremendous operational opportunities in front of us, and I'm excited to have Justin's talents to focus and coordinate our efforts.”Jones joined Southwest in 2001 as a revenue management and pricing analyst. He has held various positions in interactive marketing, aircraft operations, operations research and pricing and planning throughout his tenure at Southwest. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in Economics.
