After being appointed by GA Finance, Skyworld Aviation has placed an ATR 72-212 with Islas Airways of the Canary Islands.
The aircraft came off lease with Airlinair of France in November, and was ferried shortly before Christmas to Woensdrecht, The Netherlands, for repainting. Islas has taken delivery of the aircraft and it is now operating on a five-year lease term.
Islas Airways began operations in 2003 and now has a fleet of six ATR 72s providing inter-island services. The carrier has a firm order for three new aircraft from ATR and options on a further two.
