Alaska Airlines is launching daily nonstop services from its Portland hub to Kansas City, Minneapolis/St Paul and Omaha using 76-seat Embraer 175 jets operated by SkyWest Airlines and featuring 12 seats in first class and 64 in economy.The Portland–Kansas City and Portland–MSP flights are due to begin on 18 February 2016. The former service will depart Portland at 09:35, landing in Kansas at 14:59. The return journey for this route will leave Kansas City at 15:40 and arrive back in Portland at 17:45.The latter service will take off from Portland at 10:55, touching down in Minneapolis at 16:16. The daily flight back to Portland from Minneapolis is scheduled for 17:00 and due back at 19:08.The Portland–Omaha service will launch the next day on 19 February 2016, departing Portland at 18:50 and arriving in Omaha at 23:49. The return leg sets off at 07:00 (+1) and reaches Portland at 08:45 (+1).“We continue to expand our Portland service portfolio with new non-stops to America’s Heartland,” stated John Kirby, the airline’s vice-president of capacity planning. “With these new routes, Alaska Airlines will offer more than three times the number of nonstop destinations from the Rose City than any other carrier.”These routes are in addition to the new Portland–Austin route Alaska announced last month.Onboard amenities for the new flights will include Alaska Beyond Delicious, featuring food and beverages sourced from iconic Pacific Northwest brands, plus inflight internet access. The E175s are also equipped with Alaska Beyond Entertainment, which offers free and premium entertainment direct to customer devices. First class customers will enjoy power outlets at each seat.
