SkyWest Inc, has announced July traffic figures for its three airline subsidiaries, SkyWest Airlines, Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) and ExpressJet Airlines.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) increased by 57.5% to 2,815,487,698 compared with 1,787,381,970 in July 2010. Available seat miles went up by a slightly smaller amount – 56.0% – to 3,377,116,891 from 2,165,477,813.
The load factor for the trio in July 2011 was 83.4%, up by just 0.9 percentage points from the 82.5% load factor of July 2010. The number of passengers carried totalled 5,306,265 compared with 3,581,599 in the same month last year, a 48.2% increase.
SkyWest Inc states that the substantial increases for each of the items are due primarily to the acquisition of ExpressJet Airlines on 12 November 2010.
