SkyWest, Inc. reports April 2016 traffic

SkyWest, Inc. – made up of SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines – carried 4,412,028 passengers in April 2016, 7.2% less than the 4,756,594 carried during the same month the previous year.The decrease comes as a result of the execution of the airlines’ fleet transition plan, which is to improve the mix of aircraft in its fleet by adding new dual class aircraft to its fleet while reducing its single class aircraft. The load factor for April 2016 was 82.6%, down 1.2 percentage points on the 83.8% recorded in April 2015. Available seat miles decreased by 6.7% from 3,039,296,170 to 2,835,342,149, while revenue passenger miles shrank by 81.% from 2,510,119,218 to 2,307,496,880across the same respective periods.
