SkyWest, Inc. publishes March and 1Q15 traffic for airline subsidiaries

SkyWest, Inc. has announced combined March 2015 and first quarter traffic for its wholly-owned subsidiaries SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines.

The two airlines flew 2,587,486,590 revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in March 2015, compared with 2,793,818,773 in March 2014, a 7.4% decrease. Available seat miles (ASMs) decreased by 6.4% to 3,136,026,987 compared with 3,352,190,677 in March 2014.

The load factor dropped by 0.8 percentage points to 82.5% in March 2015 from 83.3% in March 2014. The two airlines carried 4,896,859 passengers, which was 5.9% fewer than the 5,206,379 carried last March.

In 1Q15 RPMs for the two carriers totalled 6,967,911,196, down 4.2% from 1Q14’s figure of 7,275,600,069. ASMs were cut by 3.3% to 8,692,116,453 from 8,992,949,302.

The 1Q15 load factor fell by 0.7 pp to 80.2% from 80.9% in 1Q14, while the number of passengers carried by the pair dropped 3.2% to 13,190,537 from 13,633,415 for the respective periods.
