SkyWest, Inc. has reported combined traffic figures for its subsidiary carriers, SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines, for February 2014.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for February totalled 2,192,977,888, compared with 2,190,441,250, a 0.1% increase. Available seat miles (ASMs) decreased 2.6% to 2,719,101,307 from 2,790,937,169 in February 2013.
The load factor for the two airlines in February was 80.7%, up by 2.2 percentage points from last February’s 78.5%. The number of passengers carried by the pair in February was 4,141,803, down by 3.0% on the 4,269,786 carried in February 2013.
February departures were 7.5% below the same period in 2013. As a result of the extreme weather conditions in February 2014, SkyWest cancelled approximately 7,000 flights due to this extreme weather.
