BOC Aviation has signed an agreement with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) for 20 C919s, making the lessor the 11th customer for the aircraft.
The C919 now has a backlog of 235 aircraft.
“Today’s signing of the agreement with COMAC builds upon the RMB50 billion Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement signed between Bank of China and COMAC on 3 June 2011,” commented Robert Martin, managing director & chief executive officer of BOC Aviation. “With a global reach and long-term commitment to the industry, BOC Aviation is confident that we can help COMAC to open markets for the C919 first in China and then globally.”
“We are pleased to announce this partnership with BOC Aviation,” declared Wu Guanghui, vice-president of COMAC and chief designer of the C919. “With its successful track record as a premier aircraft leasing company, BOC Aviation will provide valuable input towards the development of the C919."
