tIn mid-January 2016, Flybe will adopt a new commercial organisational structure following the departure of chief commercial officer, Paul Simmons.
Simmons is moving on to take up a role with Malaysian Airlines and will be based in Kuala Lumpur. Once this happens, the CCO role will be split into two, with both new roles sitting on Flybe’s operating board and reporting to CEO, Saad Hammad. A search is under way for both roles.
The first role will be in charge of network planning and development to ensure that as Flybe drives network expansion, new route investment decisions and route performance management are given the highest level of focus and visibility. This area had not hitherto been established as a separate function. The second role is to lead the remaining commercial teams, which include sales and marketing and customer care.
“Paul joined Flybe in 2013 and has had a strong impact in improving our customer proposition and refreshing our brand presentation,” stated Hammad. “He has been offered a great role at Malaysian Airlines and will be with us for up to six months to ensure a smooth transition of his responsibilities. We would like to thank Paul for his leadership, contribution and commitment to Flybe over the past two years. We wish him and his family well for the future.”
