Scoot has added Melbourne as its fourth Australian destination with operation of the inaugural flight from Singapore.
“Scoot has long received requests to fly to Melbourne, Australia’s sporting and cultural capital, so we’re delighted to finally be doing so,” said Campbell Wilson, Scoot CEO. “We’re even more pleased to be using a brand-new 787, part of the world’s first all-Dreamliner fleet.
“This means exceptional value not only for international guests flying to Melbourne to experience the city’s distinctive creative energy, amazing culinary indulgences and breathtaking scenery, but also guests from Melbourne flying to Scoot’s exciting destinations beyond Australia,” he added.
Scoot will operate the route five times weekly, rising to daily during peak travel periods. From Singapore, flights depart at 01:00 and arrive in Melbourne at 11:20 on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Return flights on the same day take off from Melbourne at 12:30 and reach Singapore at 17:25.
Additional services during the peak travel period from 15 December 2015 to 6 January 2016 will see flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Singapore at 00:10, with arrival in Melbourne at 10:30. The return flights for these peak period services will leave Melbourne at 11:45 and touch down in Singapore at 16:15. All times shown are local.
