Domodedovo-based S7 Engineering, part of S7 Technic Holdings, has completed the certification for the new version of the EN 9110:2016 international standard, the first among Russian aircraft maintenance organisations.

The EN 9110:2016 standard is based on ISO 9001:2015 and outlines the benchmark demands for quality management systems (QMS) in aircraft maintenance organisations. The certificate was issued by Bureau Veritas.

“A quality management system, which functions in accordance with EN 9110:2016 requirements, helps the company to streamline the way it is managed through managing business processes and measuring their performance by a number of indicators, which enable us to identify and eliminate the company’s weaknesses,” said Oleg Golomolzin, S7 Engineering’s quality director. “The main indicators are safety, compliance with quality standards, meeting the headlines and customer satisfaction,”

The company say the certification will contribute to strengthening its position in the commercial aircraft maintenance market.

S7 Engineering general director Marat Tereschenko said: “By implementing EN 9110:2016 standards we expect to strengthen our capabilities for aircraft maintenance and to become more attractive for our customers and partners, both in Russia and beyond.”

The decision to initiate the EN 9110:2016 audits for S7 Technics companies was driven by the holding’s developing co-operation with its international partners. In the short-term, the holding’s other divisions – S7 Engineering’s Mineralnye Vody base and Novosibirsk-based Sibir Technic will also be EN 9110:2016 certified.

The company said introducing the EN 9110:2016 standards enabled S7 Engineering to improve its QMS and also create opportunities for the seamless integration of Lean Production system, which will support the holding’s continuous improvement of its organisational and production efficiency.

S7 Technics Holding has also recently announced the implementation of Swiss Aviation Software’s AMOS MRO Edition software at its production sites, in line with its ongoing production digitalisation efforts.

The contract was signed by S7 Technics and Swiss-AS in November 2017 and the company says the new business functions that have been added to AMOS will assist it to improve the efficiency of its business processes to comply with the requirements and standards of its airline customers.
