Ryanair has released its August 2010 passenger booking and load factor figures, which continue to show considerable growth.
The airline’s booked passenger numbers (note, these are the number of booked seats sold by Ryanair, not necessarily the number of passengers carried) numbered 7.68 million, compared with 6.88 million last August, a 12% increase. The load factor dropped by 1 percentage point to 89% from 90% for the respective months.
Up to 31 August this year the airline’s booked passenger numbers totalled 70.9 million with an average load factor of 82%. These figures include up to 1.45m passengers who were booked to fly on flights which were cancelled due to closures in April and May of parts of EU airspace following the volcanic eruptions in Iceland.
