Ryanair has released its traffic and load factor statistics for December 2014, with sizeable increases in bookings and load factor.
The number of passengers booked (which includes all no-shows, who do not get refunds) rose from December 2013’s figure of 5.02 million to 6.02 million in December 2014, a 20% increase. The load factors for the respective months were 81% and 88%, this a 7 percentage point increase was achieved.
The rolling annual traffic to December – which in this case represents the calendar year – rose 6% to 86.4 million customers.
Ryanair’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs commented, "Ryanair’s traffic grew thanks to our lower fares, our stronger forward booking strategy and the continuing success of our ‘Always Getting Better’ customer programme, which is delivering better than expected load factors in our significantly expanded winter schedule. With our new routes, increased frequencies, improving customer experience and Business Plus service, Ryanair continues to deliver so much more than the lowest fares in every market we operate in.”
