After Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs promised Ryanair would announce a second GDS partnership before the end of 2014 at the World Low Cost Airlines Congress, the airline has now revealed its new affiliation with Amadeus.
Closely following the launch of Ryanair’s ‘Business Plus’ product this August, the airline believes that allowing Amadeus-approved travel agents across Europe access to its network and fares will mean even more engagement with businesses.
“With more than 27% of our customers already travelling on business, we are continuing to improve Europe’s best business service, with the lowest fares, most on-time flights and our tailored Business Plus service,” stated Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary.
“We are delighted Ryanair has seen the value of working with Amadeus to increase its reach, yield and merchandising capabilities. Our technology will enable travel agencies to book Ryanair flights easily and seamlessly,” added Holger Taubmann, senior VP of distribution at Amadeus. “For our subscriber partners, this agreement underlines our commitment to continued innovation in order to offer the widest possible range of airline content.”
