nasair and Etihad Airways have signed a codeshare agreement covering 26 flight sectors across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.
Announcing the deal at World Route Development Forum in Abu Dhabi, UAE, nasair CEO François Bouteiller explained that the agreement will involve Etihad Airways placing its EY code on nasair flights between the Saudi Arabian cities of Jeddah and Medinah and Etihad’s home base of Abu Dhabi.
nasair’s XY code will appear on Etihad Airways flights between Abu Dhabi and Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Colombo, Dhaka, Kuwait, Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Tehran, Beirut, Bahrain, Muscat, Jakarta, Amman, Damascus, Basra, Baghdad, Erbil, Khartoum, Cairo, Tripoli, Istanbul and subsequently on flights operating to Europe, the Americas and South East Asia over the coming months.
“The arrangment comes into operation with the winter programme,” Bouteiller noted. “We are in discussion with other carriers regarding similar relationships and hope to announce at least one agreement before the end of the year.”
