Regional Express (Rex) has announced that it was Australia’s top carrier for flights departing on time and also had the lowest cancellation rates last year according to the Statistical Report on Domestic Airline On Time Performance 2010 released by the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE).
Rex had 87.5% of its flights depart on time, beating both Qantas (85.6%) and QantasLink (81.3%). The cancellation rate for Rex was the lowest with all the major carriers having a cancellation rate of about 500% of Rex’s.
General manager network strategy & sales, Warrick Lodge, declared that Rex has consistently led the Australian airline industry for both on time departures and cancellation rates in the past eight years.
