Republic Airways Holdings has announced its preliminary passenger traffic results for January 2016, raising its load factor by 3 percentage points although the company flew 19 fewer block hours on behalf of its major airline partners.
Republic generated 738,042,000 revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in January, a 12% decrease over the 841,141,000 recorded in January 2015. Available seat miles (ASMs) were cut by 15% though, to 1,015,636,000 from 1,198,579,000 for the respective periods.
Thus the load factor increased by 3 pp to 73% from 70% from the same period in 2015. Republic’s subsidiary airlines carried 1,371,077 passengers during the month, 15% fewer than the 1,606,437 carried in January 2015.
