Republic Airways releases March and 1Q10 traffic data

Republic Airways Holdings has reported preliminary passenger traffic results for March 2010 and for the first quarter of the calendar year.

The Company generated 1,833,637,000 revenue passenger miles (RPMs), a 110% increase from the 871,825,000 in the same month last year, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 93% to 2,288,169,000 from 1,184,935,000.

Block hours were 83,799 in March 2010, a 34% increase from March 2009. Consolidated load factor was 80% versus 74% last March. Passengers carried during the month totalled 2,712,617, a 59% increase from the 1,706,837 carried in the same month last year.

The 2009 results do not include operations at Midwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines which were purchased by the company in July 2009 and October 2009, respectively. The combined branded operations had a load factor of 84% in March 2010 compared to 78% in March 2009, with both carriers achieving the highest March load factor in their histories.

IN the first quarter of 2010 (1Q10), the company generated 4,764,112,000 RPMs, compared with 2,257,102,000 in 1Q09, an increase of 111%. ASMs for 1Q10 were up 94% at 6,460,849,000 compared with 3,324,371,000 in the same period last year.

This resulted in a 6 pp load factor increase to 74% from 68% for the respective quarters, with the total number of passengers carried rising by 59% to 7,029,603 in 1Q10 from 4,433,809 in 1Q09.
