Republic Airways announces May 2010 traffic data

Republic Airways Holdings has reported preliminary passenger traffic results for May 2010, including its branded Frontier Airlines operation.

The company generated 1,834,526,000 revenue passenger miles (RPMs), a 116% increase from the 850,999,000 in same month last year, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 100% to 2,241,177,000 from 1,122,166,000. Block hours flown numbered 82,528 in May 2010, a 41% increase from May 2009’s 58,467.

Consolidated load factor showed a 6 percentage point increase at 82% versus 76% in May 2009. Passengers carried during the month totalled 2,820,880, a 66% increase from the 1,697,952 carried in May last year.

The branded operations at Frontier Airlines generated 1.09 billion RPMs in May 2010, an increase of 11% over May 2009 results. ASMs increased 5% to 1.29 billion in May 2010 compared to 1.23 billion in May 2009. Load factor on the branded operation was 85% in May 2010 compared to 80% in May 2009. This was the third consecutive month in which Frontier Airlines reported a record load factor. Frontier served 1.3 million passengers in May 2010, a 7% increase from May 2009.
