Republic Airways Holdings has reported preliminary passenger traffic results for March 2015 and the first quarter of the calendar year.
The company generated 975,037,000 revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in March, a 1% decrease over the 983,114,000 recorded in the same period in 2014. Available seat miles (ASMs) also decreased by 1%, to 1,232,217,000 from 1,235,335,000.
The load factor declined by 1 percentage point to 79% compared with the same period last year. Republic Airways carried 1,873,763 passengers during the month, down 4% compared with March 2014’s figure of 1,960,225.
In the first quarter of the year (1Q15), Republic’s RPMs totalled 2,618,008,000, compared with 1Q14’s figure of 2,565,638,000, a 2% increase. ASMs were increased by 4% to 3,490,211,000 in 1Q15, compared with 3,366,262,000 in 1Q14.
The 1Q15 load factor therefore was down by 1 pp to 75%. The number of passengers carried in 1Q15 totalled 5,018,862, which was 2% fewer than the 5,138,720 carried in 1Q14.
