With its June 2015 traffic figures, Norwegian has announced continued passenger growth and a record-high load factor of 88% for the month of June.
Norwegian carried 2,463,239 passengers in June, an increase of 7% compared with the same month in 2014. The total revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) increased by 11%, while the available seat kilometres (ASKs) increased by 4% during June. The load factor was 88% in June, up 5.5 percentage points from June last year.
“I’m pleased that so many choose to travel with Norwegian and that we can fill almost nine out of ten seats. We’re particularly happy with the development in our long-haul operation. At the same time, the weather has been in our favour as many Scandinavians have escaped the cold weather during the month of June,” commented Norwegian’s CEO Bjørn Kjos.
Norwegian operated 99.3% of its scheduled flights in June, of which 79.6% departed on time. During June, the airline began working with new handling agents at some airports, which the company believes aided the on-time performance.
