Better communication of what the RAA member airlines deliver to the travelling public and the North American has led to increased appreciation of their value, according to RAA president Roger Cohen (right in pic).
“The response to our message has been overwhelming and there is certainly much increased recognition now of the status of regional airlines within the air transport system,” Cohen remarked.
Backing this up RAA chairman Chip Childs, who is also president and COO of SkyWest Airlines, noted that three-quarters, noted that the proportion of communities that have air service and are served only be regionals has now risen to three-quarters. “People are beginning to appreciate that we have some of the finest aviation professionals in the world,” he commented.
Figures-wise, the 2010 RAA Convention looks set to be the largest ever. Cohen reported that more than 1,700 delegates had registered to attend the event.
