Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has approved QantasLink’s request to authorise the use of personal electronic devices (PEDs) throughout the entire flight.
CEO of QantasLink John Gissing noted, “This is great news for regional customers. Whether they want to catch up on emails, listen to music or watch a movie on their tablet, our customers can now maximise their time in the air – even on our shortest flights.”
Similar to regulations applied to other airlines, including Qantas itself, devices must be switched to ‘flight mode’, and larger items like laptops must still be stowed during take-off and landing.
