Aeroflot’s subsidiary and Russian low-fare carrier, Pobeda, has confirmed the commencement of a twice-weekly service from Cologne Bonn Airport to St. Petersburg.

The German airport’s only regular operator to Russia, Pobeda will launch the connection using its 737-800 fleet from 17 February.

“We are very pleased that our partnership with Cologne Bonn Airport has turned out to be so successful, and now we have connected this beautiful city with St. Petersburg! I am sure that the new St. Petersburg-Cologne flights will enjoy the same high demand as the flights from Moscow,” said Andrey Kalmykov, general director, Pobeda.

The low-fare airline’s new link will result in the airport offering close to 300 flights to Russia this summer, Pobeda says it faces no competition on its latest link between the North Rhine-Westphalia region and Russia’s second-largest city.

Athanasios Titonis, managing director, Cologne Bonn Airport says: “We are very pleased that Pobeda is expanding its involvement at our airport. The new connection is not only attractive for those who want to stay in the exciting city of St. Petersburg, but also for those who are travelling in Russia.”
