Pinnacle Airlines Corporation has released capacity and operational results for its Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. subsidiary for March 2010 and the first quarter of the calendar year.
During March Pinnacle’s revenue passenger miles (RPMs) totalled 418,869,000, 2.9% up on last March’s 407,126,000. Available seat miles (ASMs) were cut by 4.2% to 527,212,000 from 550,402,000.
Consequently the load factor rose by 5.4 percentage points to 79.4% in March 2010 from 74.0% in March 2009. The passenger numbers for the respective months were also up, this time by 8.8% to 966,551 from 888,206.
In the first quarter of 2010 (1Q10), RPMs were down by 2.8% at 1,060,353,000 from 1,090,355,000 in 1Q09. ASMs however were cut by 7.6% to 1,460,174,000 from 1,580,511,000 for the respective quarters, resulting in a 3.6 pp rise in load factor from 69.0% in 1Q09 to 72.6 in 1Q10.
Passengers carried in 1Q10 numbered 2,454,702, compared with 2,385,096 in 1Q09, a 2.9% increase.
