Pegasus Airlines has announced its traffic data for 2015 featuring 13.2% year-on-year growth in the number of passengers carried, equating to a total of 22.34 million customers.
In 2015, 13.81 million passengers flew on domestic routes in Turkey, up 15.4% compared with the previous year, while passenger numbers on international routes reached 8.52 million, an increase of 9.8% compared with 2014.
Pegasus Airlines' general manager Sertac Haybat commented, “Despite this being a challenging year in terms of air traffic issues and the geopolitical climate, we successfully concluded this difficult year. We reached another operational milestone by surpassing the 20 million guest mark for the first time. In 2016 we plan to continue our steady growth by launching new destinations to our expanding network and flying more guests to their destinations at affordable fares.”
According to the traffic data announced by the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), between 1 January and 31 December 2015, Pegasus operated 90,010 flights on Turkish domestic routes and 62,203 on international routes; a combined total of 152,213 flights, which was a 14.2% increase compared with the previous year.
