In 2015, Pegasus Airlines carried 22.34 million passengers, a 13.2% increase year-on-year.
13.81 million of the aforementioned passengers flew on domestic routes in Turkey, marking an increase of 15.4% compared to 2014; while the number of passengers flying on international routes reached 8.52 million, a growth of 9.8% compared to the previous year.
Pegasus increased its seat capacity to 28.26 million in 2015, translating to a 14.5% year-on-year increase, and achieved an average load factor of 79%.
Sertaç Haybat, general manager of Pegasus Airlines, stated, “2015 was a year in which Pegasus continued its double-digit growth despite the sluggish economy in Europe, geopolitical developments and issues with Istanbul’s infrastructure. We have yet again increased our market share and thereby continue the trend from previous years of growing above the sector average by growing at a rate 1.5 times faster than the sector.
“Our vision for 2016 is to continue growing our flight network and add new aircraft to our young fleet. We will start taking delivery of our 100 Airbus A320neo order later this year. In 2016 we will continue to inspire our guests to shape their own journeys and enrich their travels with new experiences without spending on unwanted costs,” Haybat concluded.
According to figures released by the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Pegasus Airlines’ earnings before tax in 2015 rose by 34% from the previous year to 182.4 million TL.
