Pegasus carries more than 10 million pax in 1H15

Pegasus Airlines' traffic data for the first half of 2015 (1H15) has shown that it carried more than 10 million passengers, with 6.33 million travelling on domestic routes and 3.84 million internationally. These figures translate to a year-on-year increase of 10%. Seat capacity for 1H15 was 13.04 million, a rise of 12% compared with 1H14, which meant Pegasus achieved an average load factor of 78% for the first half of 2015. At the end of June, the airline had a fleet of 64 aircraft.Traffic data according to Turkey’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) also shows that between 1 January 2015 and 30 June 2015, a total of 70,411 flights were made, representing a year-on-year increase of 12.2%.Broken down, there were 41,534 domestic flights and 28,877 international flights. Pegasus added new services to London Gatwick, Oslo and Kutaisi, as well as Kastamonu in Turkey, during 1H15. The airline now has a network of 91 destinations in 37 countries with 31 domestic and 60 international destinations.Sertac Haybat, general manager of Pegasus Airlines, declared, “Following our double-digit growth during 2014, we're very happy to have also captured this trend during the first half of 2015 given the relative slowness for the aviation industry during this time. We marked another important milestone at the close of this period when we carried more than 10 million guests during the first half of the year for the first time ever in our company's history. We aim to continue this trend of growth during the second half of the year, when we will also continue to take our guests to their chosen destinations at the best-value fares.”
