PARIS 2015: ITP to participate in A330neo’s Trent 7000 engine

ITP and Rolls-Royce have signed a contract for ITP to supply the low pressure turbine (LPT) of the Trent 7000 turbofan engine for all versions of the Airbus A330neo, acting as a risk and revenue sharing partner throughout the life of the programme.ITP will conduct the full design of the turbine, from conceptual design to detailed engineering and development. In addition, ITP will manufacture the majority of the turbine’s key components and be responsible for integration and assembly, supplying the module to Rolls-Royce for subsequent installation on the engine. With this contract, ITP broadens its participation as a risk and revenue sharing partner across the entire family of Rolls-Royce engines for the twin-aisle aircraft segment. Once the new aircraft enters into service, ITP estimates that it will reach a global market share of over 50% in the low pressure turbine sector for twin-aisle aircraft. In the low-fare airline market, AirAsia X has firm orders for 55 A330neo aircraft.
