fastjet has reported its passenger statistics for October 2014, with operations in Tanzania carried a total of 59,830 passengers and achieving a load factor of 74%.
Compared with the October last year, the total represents a 77% increase in the number of passengers carried, while the load factor was up by 4 percentage points. Punctuality for the month showed 95% of flights arriving on time.
Ed Winter, chief executive officer and interim chairman of fastjet, commented, "I am delighted to see such strong total passenger numbers and high load factor for what is traditionally a low travel month. Passenger numbers grew month on month as we added additional flights to Entebbe and recorded strong passenger increases on our flights to Harare."
For the rolling 12 months ending 31 October 2014, fastjet carried 539,205 passengers, a 65% increase over the rolling 12 months ending 31 October 2013 when 326,135 passengers were carried.
