Norwegian carried more than 2.8 million passengers during June 2016, an increase of 317,821 passengers, or 13%, from the same month last year.
The load factor was 90.2%, up 2.2 percentage points. This was the result of revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) growth which went up by 17%, driven by a 15% growth in available seat kilometres (ASKs).
“We are grateful that so many choose to fly with Norwegian and we will work hard to maintain our customers’ trust. These traffic figures show a solid load factor across all markets,” noted Norwegian CEO, Bjørn Kjos.
Norwegian’s fleet renewal programme continues in 2016 with the delivery of 21 brand new aircraft. The company took delivery of two Boeing 737-800s in June.
