Norwegian has released its traffic statistics for April 2014 featuring a considerable increase in the average load factor.
Norwegian carried 1,996,311 passengers in April, an increase of 17% compared with the same month last year. The total revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) increased by 49%, while available seat kilometres (ASKs) increased by 37% this month. The load factor was 79.8% in April, up 6.2 percentage points from April 2013’s figure.
“I’m very pleased that despite the strong capacity growth this month we keep attracting customers and continue to fill our aircraft even better than we did the same period last year. Norwegian’s on-time performance is almost 90%, once again making us one of most punctual airlines in Europe in terms of on-time performance,” remarked Norwegian’s CEO Bjørn Kjos.
In April, Norwegian took delivery of a brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft, as well as a new 787. Norwegian will take delivery of 14 Boeing 737-800s and four 787s during 2014.
