Norwegian is continuing its UK expansion by adding two new destinations – Keflavik, Iceland and Rovaniemi, Finland – from London Gatwick. From 30th October 2016, Norwegian will begin a thrice-weekly seasonal service to Keflavik on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, timed to suit passengers wanting to spend a long weekend in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital.From 19 December 2016, Passengers will be able to fly between London Gatwick and Lapland’s capital, Rovaniemi, in Finland. Flights will operate twice-weekly on Mondays and Fridays.Norwegian has also increased the number of London Gatwick flights to Lanzarote, Tenerife, Tromso and Grenoble, adding an additional 25,000 seats for the winter season on these routes alone.Thomas Ramdahl, the carrier’s CCO, averred, “We are committed to offering low fares with choice and flexibility for our passengers. Both Reykjavik and Rovaniemi are fantastic additions to our growing UK route network, which now serves more than 50 destinations nonstop. The addition of these new routes and extra capacity to some of our most popular winter destinations will make this our busiest winter at London Gatwick.”Elsewhere, Norwegian will launch twice-weekly flights to both Gran Canaria and Tenerife from Manchester on 30 October 2016 and 1 November 2016 respectively. The Gran Canaria service will run on Fridays and Sundays, while the Tenerife flights will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
