The total number of passengers flown by Norwegian in May 2014 was 2,103,477 compared with 1,885,648 last year, an increase of 217,829 passengers (12%).
Compared with May 2013, total revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) increased by 45% to 3,120 million from 2,150 million. Available seat kilometres (ASKs) were increased by the same percentage to 4,054 million from 2,792 million. The load factor of 77.0% was therefore the same as last May’s figure.
According to the airline, the increase in passenger traffic, production and passengers is primarily driven by the establishment of new European short-haul bases and long-haul operations to North America and Southeast Asia.
