Regional Express (Rex) has announced the addition of two new non-stop return flights between Townsville and Mount Isa from 14 June.
The new flights, operating on Fridays and Sundays, will depart Townsville at 12:20, arriving in Mount Isa at 14:20. From Mount Isa the new flights will depart at 14:50, arriving in Townsville at 16.50.
Commenting on the new services, Rex GM network strategy and sales, Warrick Lodge said, “Rex has been operating non-stop services between Townsville and Mount Isa since the beginning of February and we are extremely pleased with the level of support that we have received. The past few months have given us an opportunity to review the route’s performance and listen to feedback and these latest changes reflect our growing commitment to the Townsville to Mount Isa route with 3 return services on Fridays.
“The additional non-stop flights that will operate on Fridays and Sundays will be a huge bonus for business travellers, in particular for those needing to travel from Mount Isa to Townsville on Friday afternoon. The additional Friday and Sunday flights will also open up increased opportunities for weekend related travel between Mount Isa and Townsville.” Lodge added.
