American Eagle Airlines has begun flights between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV), Florida, operating the service with 64-seat ATR 72s.
"We are excited to launch this service to Gainesville – with its strong ties to South Florida, both in business and education," said Peter Dolara, American’s senior vice-president based in Miami. "Our customers have been asking for this new service. Connecting these two communities is proof of our ongoing commitment to increase service from our Miami hub. It will also offer our customers from the Gainesville area the ability to connect to destinations throughout the US, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe."
The twice-daily service departs Gainesville at 07:45 and 13:20 with respective arrival times in Miami of 09:20 and 14:55. In the opposite direction, flights take off from Miami at 11:15 and 20:20 with arrival times in Gainesville of 12:50 and 21:55 respectively.
