From 1 March, Carsten Wirths will be the new managing director and labour director at Lufthansa CityLine with headquarters in Munich.
The leadership of Lufthansa CityLine involves two managing directors and Wirths – who succeeds Stephan Klar – will work alongside Jörg Eberhart. In his function, Wirths is responsible for all commercial aspects, the IT sector, as well as HR management for approximately 2,200 employees, while Eberhart will continue to be responsible for the operative business, especially flight operations and aircraft maintenance.
With around 60 aircraft, Lufthansa CityLine connects more than 75 European and intercontinental destinations with Lufthansa hubs in Frankfurt and Munich.
Wirths moves to CityLine from his role as vice-president for Europe and Africa at Lufthansa Cargo, where he was responsible for the sales and handling at around 120 locations in more than 90 countries.
