Ryanair is to launch a new route between Cardiff and Tenerife from 30 October 2014, which the airline says will deliver more than 15,000 customers a year at Cardiff Airport with a weekly service.
Ryanair’s deputy director of route development, Kate Sherry, remarked, “Consumers and visitors already choose Ryanair for the lowest fares, great route choice and our industry leading customer service. Now they can also book their flights on our improved website, carry a free small second carry-on bag, enjoy allocated seats and use their personal electronic devices at all stages of their flight. We also have a new smartphone app, family and business products coming soon, as Ryanair continues to deliver so much more than just the lowest fares.”
Cardiff Airport’s chief executive, Jon Horne, added, “We are delighted that Ryanair has chosen Cardiff as its 15th UK departure airport and see this as a major opportunity to increase choice for our customers. This development fits perfectly with our strategy to grow the number of low-fare airlines and flights available from Cardiff. It’s great to add another major airline like Ryanair to our list and I’m sure this service will be a great success.”
Initially the route will operate weekly on Thursdays with departure from Tenerife at 06:55, arriving in Cardiff at 10:50. The return from Cardiff leaves at 11:15 with touchdown in Tenerife at 15:20.
