navAero has received Supplementary Type Certificate (STC)from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) that allows its t•BagC22 electronic flight bag (EFB) system to be used on Embraer E-Jets.
The t•BagC22 system architecture includes cross-connectivity between the EFB CPUs that provides for data sharing between the two independent systems. Each CPU also features the navAero-designed UMTS/HSDPA 3G cellular modem and 802.11b/g WiFi module for on-ground data transfer.
navAero Group president, Simone Giordano, commented, “While this certification project was one of the most challenging we have recently executed due to the design requirements imposed by the Embraer cockpit, we achieved our goal and created a solution that meets the highest safety standards imposed by EASA.”
