MRO EUROPE: Wizz Air opt for P&W EcoPower engine wash

Wizz Air has signed a five-year deal to use Pratt & Whitney’s EcoPower engine wash system on its Airbus A320 fleet.Wizz Air will perform the engine washes at Budapest International Airport and will also have mobile wash capability to perform washes at many airports within its route structure.“Prior to using EcoPower engine wash, we used the conventional shepherd’s hook method to wash our engines,” explained Simon Mermod, Wizz Air powerplant manager. “We switched to EcoPower because we recognised the operational, environmental and cost benefits it offers. With EcoPower, we anticipate a considerable reduction in our fuel burn while contributing to a cleaner environment.”
