MRO Europe – AerFin and NORDAM expand engine deal

AerFin and NORDAM have expanded a strategic services agreement to include consignment, exchange and lease management of spare nacelles for V2500-A5 and CFM56-5B engines used on Airbus A320 aircraft belonging to European operators.

Tulsa-based NORDAM’s airline customers will be able to access AerFin-owned components and related operational support from its main rotable-distribution base near Gatwick Airport in the UK. The spares allow aircraft to remain in service while NORDAM repairs thrust reversers and nacelles, preventing potentially costly ‘aircraft-on-ground’ downtime during maintenance.

“We are delighted to expand our support in the narrow-body market by offering our dedicated, cost-effective and high-quality service to NORDAM and its customers,” said Nick Filce, AerFin’s director of asset sales and MRO. “Through our aircraft acquisition strategy, we have built a large stock of Airbus component inventory to support our airline customers and key strategic partners through bespoke program solutions.”

T. Hastings Siegfried, chief operating officer for NORDAM’s global repair and MRO group, said: “By furthering our co-operation with AerFin, we’re controlling inventory costs and improving access to flight-ready, certified components and assemblies. This geographically strategic arrangement underscores the NORDAM commitment to deliver consistently outstanding service and value to our customers, anywhere in the world.”

Earlier this year AerFin’s BeyondPool solution was selected by BA Cityflyer to support the airline’s 21-strong E-Jet fleet.
