MRJ begins taxiing tests

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) have begun low speed taxiing tests on the first Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) flight test aircraft in the Toyoyamacho, Aichi Prefecture of Nagoya Airport.The taxiing tests will show if the aircraft can brake at low speeds and assess the jet’s direction control steering while it’s on the ground.Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation and MHI are working co-operatively in preparation for the inauguration of the MRJ’s manufacture. To date, 223 firm orders have already been received for the MRJ. The first flight is scheduled for September or October of this year.
