AirAsia X will be ramping up its flights and will be flying twice daily from Kuala Lumpur to both Melbourne and Perth from 1 July 2010.
In addition, AirAsia is also increasing its frequency on Bali–Perth from 1 June from two to three direct daily flights.
Azran Osman-Rani, CEO of AirAsia X, remarked, “AirAsia is pleased to boost frequencies on all three popular routes. We’ve been delighted with the response from the travelling public, support from state and national tourism bodies and our airport partners, who have really thrown their weight behind these routes and AirAsia as a whole.
“Australian guests have been using our Kuala Lumpur hub as a gateway to connect to other exciting holiday destinations including Bangkok, Singapore, Penang, Langkawi, Phuket, Ho Chi Minh and many others. And with the new services from Kuala Lumpur to the various points in India like Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and others will definitely stimulate further demands,” Osman-Rani continued. “Loads have been consistently strong year-round on all Australian services and this has given us the confidence to increase our capacity particularly on Melbourne and Perth routes and as we grow our network and expand aggressively in India.”
