Independent UK MRO provider Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL) has been awarded a new line maintenance contract with Canadian carrier Air Transat.

The agreement covers full line maintenance support for the airline’s fleet of Airbus A310 and A330 aircraft at Glasgow airport in Scotland.

Air Transat has been an MAEL customer since 2007, and currently operates six weekly departures from Glasgow from May to October as part of its extended summer flight programme.

MAEL has line maintenance operations with permanent year-round stations at 10 airports across the UK and mainland Europe. Since becoming independent in October last year following the collapse of parent company Monarch, MAEL has announced several new MRO agreements with airlines including Virgin Atlantic Airways, China Airlines, Wizz Air, Icelandair and La Compagnie.
