Mitsubishi reports MRJ main wing transfer

Mitsubishi Aircraft and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) have announced the transfer of the main wing of the first Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) flight test aircraft from MHI’s Tobishima Plant to Komaki South Plant.

The 16 m x 4 m and 2.3 tonne right-hand main wing was loaded on a customised trailer, to make the two-hour 35 kilometre journey from the Tobishima Plant to the Komaki South Plant.

The wing is now being prepared for attachment to the first test aircraft fuselage as the MRJ moves towards roll-out in early 2015.
