Mesa Airlines has signed a firm purchase agreement with Bombardier Commercial Aircraft for seven CRJ900 NextGen aircraft during the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) Americas 2015 conference held in Mesa's hometown of Phoenix, Arizona.
Mesa, which currently operates 57 CRJ900s in a dual-class layout with 79 seats and 20 CRJ700s with a three-class interior and between 66-70 seats, is firming up the agreement announced in early February. The aircraft will be flown in American Eagle colours on behalf of American Airlines Group.
“We are pleased to confirm that Bombardier's CRJ aircraft continue to be an essential part of Mesa's growth strategy as we increase flight frequencies, expand partnership agreements and open new routes across North America,” explained Jonathan Ornstein, Mesa’s chairman and CEO.”
