Mesa Air Group has reached agreement in principle with US Airways to extend its codeshare agreement covering 38 CRJ900s for an additional term of 39 months to September 2015.
Under the agreement, Mesa Airlines will continue to provide RJ service under the US Airways Express banner. The term sheet also includes a reduction in the rates paid by US Airways to Mesa to operate those aircraft. The agreement is subject to approval by boards of directors of the two airline companies and the Bankruptcy Court currently overseeing Mesa’s restructuring.
Mesa will therefore continue to provide US Airways Express service out of US Airways’ hubs in Phoenix, AZ, and Charlotte, NC, utilising aircraft in Mesa’s current fleet.
