Mesa Air Group has announced two new appointments to its senior leadership team.
John Selvaggio has joined as vice-president of business development and resource planning. With more than 35 years of airline experience with American Airlines/AMR, US Airways and Delta Air Lines, Selvaggio will help steer Mesa’s long-term growth and resource pipeline strategy.
His significant career milestones include serving as assistant vice-president of strategic planning for American Airlines; president, CEO and COO of post-bankruptcy Midway Airlines; and vice-president of US Airways Express. He also served as senior vice-president–airport customer service for Delta Air Lines and as president, CEO and COO of Delta’s low-fare subsidiary, Song Airlines. From 2007 to 2009, he served as president and CEO of Comair.
Marcia Scott, who joins Mesa as director of corporate communications, brings nearly 20 years of in-house corporate communications, public relations agency and PR consulting experience. Since 2008, Scott served as public relations account supervisor at The Lavidge Company in Phoenix. Her previous positions include vice-president of corporate communications and investor relations for Atlanta-based PGi and director of corporate communications and investor relations for both ValuJet Airlines and AirTran Airways.
