Liz McMeikan (pictured), senior independent director at JD Wetherspoon, has been appointed as a non-executive director at Flybe.
McMeikan will replace David Longbottom who, after serving nine years on the board, is planning to retire at the end of August. From September she will join the Remuneration and Nomination Committees, chairing the former (which was also a previous responsibility of Longbottom).
Chairman of Flybe Simon Laffin remarked, “I am delighted that we are able to attract board directors of such quality. Liz has an extensive executive and non-executive track record across a variety of businesses. We look forward to working with her at this exciting time in the development of Flybe.”
McMeikan already has experience as a non-executive director at Fresca Group, a £365m private business, and already chairs the Remuneration committee for Unite Group plc.
