ExpressJet Holdings, parent company of regional and charter airline operator, ExpressJet Airlines, has reported traffic and capacity results for March 2010 and the first quarter of the year.
In March, ExpressJet’s revenue passenger miles (RPMs) totalled 813 million compared with 663 million in March 2009, a 22.6% increase. Available seat miles (ASM) flown were 1,023 million, up 17.0% from last March’s 874 million. The airline’s March load factor for partner flying therefore rose 3.5 percentage points to 79.4% from 75.9%.
During March 2010, ExpressJet operated an average of 208 aircraft as Continental Express and an average of 22 aircraft as United Express.
ExpressJet’s first quarter figures saw RPMs reach 2,071 million, up 21.1% from 1Q09’s figure of 1,709 million. ASMs were also up, by 14.9%, to 2,742 million from 2,386 million. The load factor thus rose to 79.4%, 7.8 pp above the 71.6% recorded for the same period last year.
